We are dedicated to providing a safe environment for all guests. Please refrain from bringing the following items to the Lighthouse & grounds:
Tripods, drones, selfie sticks, camera/video equipment, or other non-handheld cameras
Backpacks, large bags, or purses larger than 11" x 11"
Firearms, knives, or other weapons
Fires, grills, shovels or digging tools, metal detectors
Alcohol, smoking, and tobacco products
Sporting equipment or boats (there is no boat launch or shore anchoring)
Wet clothing
Pets (not permitted in Lighthouse Park — please do not leave animals in a vehicle)
Spiked heels & sports cleats. Climbers must wear shoes and may not climb barefoot or in socks.
Food & drink, picnic lunches, coolers, and chairs are permitted behind the museum only. Please note: US 1 Bridge construction is active, and the waterfront area next to the bridge may be closed periodically for public safety.
CLIMBING SAFETY:
All persons must be able to climb unassisted and may not be carried up the Lighthouse tower.
Children must be 4 feet (48") or taller.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult to climb.
The tower climb is strenuous — persons with health considerations climb at their own discretion and risk.
We reserve the right to refuse admission to any intoxicated person for any Lighthouse tour.
ON THE GROUNDS:
Please be aware that not all lighthouses are owned and operated the same way. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum sits in Lighthouse Park on both town and federal property and is a federally designated "Outstanding Natural Area," complying with local, state, and federal rules.
Wild animals, fowl, and reptiles may be present on-site, including lizards, snakes, birds, foxes, squirrels, and gopher tortoises. Please do not feed wildlife, and be mindful of children.
Keep valuables locked and out of sight in your vehicle. If you notice any suspicious unattended items, please inform Gift Shop staff.
For a comfortable visit, please wear appropriate attire, including a shirt or cover-up
over swimwear, and secure, comfortable walking shoes.
ACCESSIBILITY DETAILS:
Free, fully accessible parking is located near the entrance. A wheelchair ramp leads to the Admissions & Gift Shop, and restrooms on the grounds are wheelchair accessible.
After registration, visitors can access the grounds via a wide, brick-paved pathway that winds past the Tindall Pioneer Homestead, Seminole Chickee, and Native American Kiosks. The Tindall Pioneer Homestead includes a wheelchair ramp with handrails.
The path from Admissions to the Lighthouse deck is approximately ¼ mile. The deck itself is wheelchair accessible and offers access to the Keepers Workshop, Banyan Tree, and Cistern, along with views of the Jupiter Inlet and grounds.
Please note: as a historic site, some areas — including the Lighthouse tower — are accessible only by stairs (34 steps up a hill from the deck to the tower base).
Under the federal permit that the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum operates, we are not allowed to permit anyone carried - by hand, harness, or any other device - inside the lighthouse.
The indoor Keepers Workshop exhibit features interactive displays about the Lighthouse and its Keepers. Guided tours include wheelchair-accessible portions of the property and conclude at the base of the tower stairs, so all guests can participate.
Shaded seating and benches are located throughout the property, and staff/volunteers are stationed at key points to assist visitors. A multilingual mobile tour app is also available in English, Spanish, and French.
SERVICE ANIMALS:
Trained service animals are welcome on tours and in the Museum. A service animal is one trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability. For safety reasons, animals may not ascend the Lighthouse tower. Service animals must remain leashed/harnessed and under handler control at all times — staff and volunteers cannot take control of a service animal. Pets and therapy animals are not permitted on the grounds, in the Museum, or on tours.

From sunset gatherings beneath the beacon to community celebrations that draw people back year after year, the Lighthouse is a place to experience history, not just view it.

we invite you to make us part of your story.
