The Loxahatchee River Historical Society: 50 Years of Preserving Jupiter’s Past

The nonprofit Loxahatchee River Historical Society (LRHS) is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022. Inspired by local pioneer historian Bessie Wilson DuBois and founded by Ethel Gravett, this organization is best known for operating Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum. It also led the success campaign to establish Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area. LRHS has also worked to preserve several other local historic buildings. It also works to preserve artifacts, photos, and records from the Loxahatchee River region’s five thousand years of human habitation. Join LRHS Historian Josh Liller to learn more about the historical society’s accomplishments and its goals for the future.

Copies of the revised edition of Five Thousand Years on the Loxahatchee, co-authored by the presenter and published by LRHS, will be available for purchase and signing.
