Black Jupiter: Untold Stories

February 25 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

African Americans have a long history in the Jupiter area, especially the Limestone Creek community of western Jupiter. Black Seminoles sought freedom. Black homesteaders and pioneers sought new opportunities, at times accounting for as much as a third of the local population. Today their descendants seek to preserve their community identity. They are all an important part of our heritage.  LRHS Historian Josh Liller shares some of their stories as part of Black History Month.

Copies of the revised edition of Five Thousand Years on the Loxahatchee, co-authored by the presenter and published by LRHS, will be available for purchase and signing.
